Re: Unpopular Nintendo Opinions thread

Oh, I was talking about glitches. Should've made that more clear. Gen 3's clock system in Ruby and Sapphire eventually breaks all daily events permanently due to faulty coding, unless an external patch is applied to the game. Gen 4 is even worse, where by moving fast and erratically on the bicycle ...

Gen 1 - I like Charmander and Squirtle. Gen 2 - I like all three. Gen 3 - I like Torchic and Treecko. Gen 4 - I Don't like any of the three. Gen 5 - I only like Snivy. Gen 6 - I like Fennekin and Froakie. Gen 7 - I only like Rowlet. Gen 8 - I don't like any of the three (but I haven't seen their evo...

Re: Unpopular Nintendo Opinions thread

Every game in the Pokémon series is the same, I agree, at least in terms of the main series, and I blame the developers for being lazy, knowing people will buy the games regardless of its quality. If people stopped buying the games, and gave the developers a massive financial hit, maybe they actual...

Re: Unpopular Nintendo Opinions thread

I find Super Mario World to be a bit of a bland and underwhelming experience. Sure, the improved physics, and larger variety of enemies and level objects, are a big improvement over Super Mario Bros. 3. However, Super Mario World really drops the ball with recycled boss designs, far less things to ...

Re: im a huge scorbunny fan,

I usually like at least one starter from every generation, however Gen 4 and (so far) Gen 8 are instances where I have no form of attachment to any of the three. Gen 2 is currently the only generation where I liked all three starter designs.

Re: Every Genesis Sonic Zone Reviewed (Sonic 1, 2)

Another problem is the underwater nightmare RISING EVIL PLATFORMS WITH UNDERWATER PSYCHICS AND A LIMITED TIME TO GET OUT!! The most infamous part of chemical plant! I'm surprised this segment of the level still haunts players to this day, especially when there are at least three different ways to s...

Re: Thoughts on Chrono Trigger as an RPG.

If there was something I'd say I didn't like about the game, is that the Mode-7 racing mini-game in the future, feels clunky and kind of unnecessary. Thankfully that segment is pretty minor, and doesn't do much to hurt the game as a whole.

Re: Random question about ALttP

If this issue was caused by anti-piracy functions in the game itself, this is probably some of the most subtle I've seen on SNES games. Some games like Earthbound have far more harsh consequences. Notice the brilliance in this... The player that plays the game on an emulator died 999 times in THIEV...

Re: Thoughts on Chrono Trigger as an RPG.

Copied and pasted for convenience. Chrono Trigger nails just about everything. Battle system is simple to understand but has a lot of strategic depth. Pacing is amazing and never requires grinding (unless you actively try to avoid battles, then its your own fault). World building is amazing, with ev...

Re: Mario 64 vs. Banjo Kazooie

If it wasn't for Super Mario 64 (for all its strengths and flaws) being one of the major titles laying the groundwork for how 3D platformers should function, I don't know if Banjo would have be as good as it was. I mean, we all seen what happened to the likes of Bubsy 3D, before Super Mario 64's sta...

1 "Game" = 1 Death SNES/SFC Version 1 "Game" refers to any instance of losing all health and not being revived by a fairy, it also refers to any instance of selecting "Save & Quit" from the saving menu during gameplay. GBA Version 1 "Game" refers to any instance of losing all health and not being re...

Re: Every Genesis Sonic Zone Reviewed (Sonic 1)

Starlight Zone Finally back in the territory of good zones we have starlight. Pacing is back on track, and the level is very fun. The level has no checkpoints, but is short and sparing. Enemy placement is a bit of an issue, and fans are glitchy. Other than that, it's pretty good. There really isn't...

Re: Slide Jumps

In MMM, sliding before a jump will slightly increase the horizontal distance of the jump, letting Mega/Proto clear 4-tile wide spaces with ease. It can even be used to cross 4x1 jumps or 3x3 jumps, which are normally impossible. How many of you knew this, and do you think levels should take advanta...

Re: Who / What is a plant-based robot master?

I currently wouldn't know where Skull Man could fit. Ah, Skull Man... Yeah, I've had troubles classifying him FOR YEARS, and I STILL can't find a category for him! Skull Man, with his skeleton theme, is pretty clearly linked around "Death" as a theme. Skull Man could in theory be categorized with D...
