Gimmicks and Features hot list

Here I would like to collect all suggestions for features to implement in an easy to scan format. The Features selected however, are not wild ideas or "add this" or "add that" demands. No, the point here is to list things that are easy to implement, expansions of existing mechanics, and/or tweaks th...

Re: How To: Make a Full Game (campaign)

you are adding extra steps on your one way teleport tutorial. it actually works like this: Your exit will be your entrance. When you place your teleporter, put the first one where you want the player to end up, then while it is still the "active object" (you are hovering over it, now holding the "ex...

Re: [ Noob ] needs help and tips! :D

206253 MegaMan Elements is my attempt at a metroidvania style map. And it CHUGS. In fact, I made that part of the level design after a while, as the slowdown allowed me to get bit cheeky with the enemy and hazard placement. I'm most proud of the store system I made, using keys as "currency" to unloc...

Re: Version 1.6.3

Unintended/Unexpected Behavior. This has to do with astrogates. I worked around this by using a different type of gate for part of the puzzle affected because it was more of a side puzzle to the main one, but I got a bug where if you are switching astro gates frequently and switching screens, after ...

Deconfirmed features; BUT WHY THO.

HOLD ON BEFORE YOU LOCK THIS I'm just asking if there were plans to have a slightly more..."in depth" explanation of the deconfirmed features. Perhaps if we understand the limitations better than "I'm not doing it because it's my game so get bent" (i know this is not what he's saying but comes acros...

Maybe leave Firewall as is and have a separate gimmick Lava Tide that goes up and down like you suggest.
well, you know, whatever. figured it would be easier to tack on some modifying code to existing work than add whole new module, but if it works better that way...*shrugs*

Lava wall suggestion

This is more of a tweak to the feature, so it should be fairly simple to add.

Could we have it set up so it raises and lowers in the level at set intervals? This could make for some super devious puzzles and definitely white knuckle game play. ;)

a small request of the spriters

In a completely uncontroversial manner, I move that the polar bears from MM7 that roar and then bat ice blocks at you be added in the next update.

Reasoning: I thought they were neat.

Discuss.

Re: THIS

It would be sweet to have a touch up mode where you can tweak tile states, after the bulk editing is done. That way, it satisfies everyone. I'd be simple, just allow us to use this mode on preplaced blocks and left clicking on a tile cycles the block state through that tilesets options one way, and ...

Exclusive Robot Masters?

I've hinted at this before, but I actually thought of a good one the other day. NOW HEAR ME OUT: Chance Woman: This is a Robot master themed around a slot machine/magician/the concept of luck. (The reels are what give her "bosoms") When Megaman Fires his weapon she jumps straight up and fires A Pach...

Re: How Text Boxes COULD work in MMM + Example

I assume Mega Man Maker was designed with the focus to be a level building tool, not a story building tool. I'm personally still not convinced as to why Textboxes/NPCs/Signs are necessary. There are time I'd like to label things or send messages to the player to clarify how a section is intended to...

Re: Very small easy to implement suggestion that should not be controversial in any way

How stupid do you have to be to suggest something that stupid? That would be stupid and too hard to implement. The devs would have to add so much code, it would take, like, 4 hours. Also, there's nothing wrong with how key cards work now, and there should be no reason to put items inside blocks. Th...

Re: Golden Rules Of Level Design

RULE 1: Assume this is the first time the player has ever played the game. We, in our case can dispense with explaining control schemes or how items interact, but what I mean here is Start Easy. Introduce concepts slowly before you ramp up the difficulty. There are countless examples of this throug...
