Re: Text Editing- Made Easier Than Ever
Wow dude, you put together a looooot of data. Totally bookmarking this. I don't usually do a lot of text editing (or indeed, upload anything), but I like to tinker. If the MMLE gets updated for 1.7, I'd be super into that as well. Thanks for compiling this info into an easy to reference spreadsheet....

Re: Version 1.7.0
Not sure if you would call it a bug, but...

The description for keys is now outdated!
Probably should mention multiple colors and new limit (thanks again btw).
This is no big deal for users who are aware of the update, but anyone else might be a tad misled.

Re: Your favourite feature in 1.7
I voted Roll because that likely was the most difficult to implement, and I love her apparent play style. I appreciate all the sprite work that must have gone into her, as she's got to be able to do everything the other characters can do, use all the weapons currently in the game (many of which have...

Re: Centering
Since the items in fact take up just 1 block,, it's only natural that they can be placed in one spot, therefore they can't be "centered". There also exist 2x2 objects, which are placed - you guessed it - with their centers between two tiles. Just make alternate player spawn objects that are 2x2. Wh...

Yep, that's what I said.

I agree, I just wanted to point out that it can technically already be done.

Re: Changing who is in the level mugshot when multiple bosses are present
This can be done by editing the level in a text editor, such as Notepad.
You can find out more here.
Having said that, it would be nice if you could select any of the available mugshots for bosses in the level, natively supported in the editor.

Re: I have a few questions...
There's already plenty of good tips here, but I just wanted to add: Make a level that feels good to play. I personally stick to the rigid design principles of the original games, but many people make levels that have screen transitions in strange places. This is fine as long as it doesn't interrupt ...

Re: Also a general menu to show levels randomly.
Would be kind of cool to get a random selection of levels as opposed to calling up a single one.

Are we really not going to address the use of Rolling Cutter in this post full of rolling puns?
I half expected Neo Cutman to call it out.

Re: GIF Recording
Can these GIFs be uploaded directly to the boards, or will you have to upload them to 3rd party sites first? You will still have to upload it somewhere. I don't believe the forums support functionality to upload anything to them. All the images we post are hosted externally, on websites like imgur.

Re: Buffer tiles
Yeah, I'm gonna need an example before I say much else, but if you need a screen to stop scrolling at a particular point, you would pretty much just need to build your room longer/shorter to line up with a screen edge. This isn't something I've ever seen done in the mainline games - screen stops alw...

Re: Skull Walker
As a mechanic "just fire" without oil doesn't seem very useful. 😕 If the player has a water weapon then the fire would be extinguished instantly as if it was never there. If the player doesn't have a water weapon then the fire would behave exactly like spikes. But like... The game isn't about strai...

Re: Megaman & Protoman LVL pack
The intro stage was, indeed, an intro stage. I mostly agree with Tyler on this one, it's kinda... Meh. The boss gave me a little trouble at first, simply because I hadn't fought Magnet Man for a while. I didn't die, but I took a lot more damage than I should have, because I forgot what Magnet Man ev...

https://i.imgur.com/SOvgUmx.png Personally, I voted for Darspider. I think it's an interesting enemy that has a chance to get in. https://i.imgur.com/S2jL0RY.png I also really like Arigock G, but... I imagine it won't get a lot of votes, due to being similar to Bomb Thrown. It's a stationary enemy ...

Re: We can't have Wily Castle bosses, so instead...
I mean, I basically use Bubble Man out of water for this kind of thing, currently, but even that isn't ideal, because I don't necessarily want a bunch of Bubble Lead trailing along the ground all the time. It would be nice to have something dedicated to this type of use, along with the above-mention...

Re: can we get a separate folder for levels we've downloaded?
Would be sweet is the level folder could have sub-folders, yeah. I'm no programmer but could be simple to add? From what I can tell, as far as the coding language (GML), it should be possible. Re-writing whatever they have going on for all this to work in the engine in the first place, however? Tha...

Re: How To: Make a Full Game (campaign)
When you place your teleporter, put the first one where you want the player to end up, then while it is still the "active object" (you are hovering over it, now holding the "exit") right click to delete it. You should still be holding the exit teleporter. Now place the "exit" where you want the pla...

Ladders do not interact very well with sand: https://i.imgur.com/qKoRDBL.gif First, I land on the second tile down. This is partly because of the screen transition, as without sand, I will end up placed similarly, but none of the ladder would be solid at that time. The rest is, I assume, because the...
