Re: Megaman & Protoman LVL pack

The intro stage was, indeed, an intro stage. I mostly agree with Tyler on this one, it's kinda... Meh. The boss gave me a little trouble at first, simply because I hadn't fought Magnet Man for a while. I didn't die, but I took a lot more damage than I should have, because I forgot what Magnet Man ev...

Re: Phase 2 - The Mega Man Maker Enemy Contest

https://i.imgur.com/SOvgUmx.png Personally, I voted for Darspider. I think it's an interesting enemy that has a chance to get in. https://i.imgur.com/S2jL0RY.png I also really like Arigock G, but... I imagine it won't get a lot of votes, due to being similar to Bomb Thrown. It's a stationary enemy ...

Re: We can't have Wily Castle bosses, so instead...

I mean, I basically use Bubble Man out of water for this kind of thing, currently, but even that isn't ideal, because I don't necessarily want a bunch of Bubble Lead trailing along the ground all the time. It would be nice to have something dedicated to this type of use, along with the above-mention...

Re: can we get a separate folder for levels we've downloaded?

Would be sweet is the level folder could have sub-folders, yeah. I'm no programmer but could be simple to add? From what I can tell, as far as the coding language (GML), it should be possible. Re-writing whatever they have going on for all this to work in the engine in the first place, however? Tha...

Re: How To: Make a Full Game (campaign)

When you place your teleporter, put the first one where you want the player to end up, then while it is still the "active object" (you are hovering over it, now holding the "exit") right click to delete it. You should still be holding the exit teleporter. Now place the "exit" where you want the pla...

Ladders do not interact very well with sand: https://i.imgur.com/qKoRDBL.gif First, I land on the second tile down. This is partly because of the screen transition, as without sand, I will end up placed similarly, but none of the ladder would be solid at that time. The rest is, I assume, because the...

that's nice but it be helpful if there was Comment or Level Feedback section so the creator knows what they need to focus on to improve
You can already do that in Meka's website.

https://megamaker.webmeka.io/
So what you're saying is "nice try, but use this other site instead". lol

Re: Multiple boss weaknesses/immunities

I agree, but in the past the red x was selectable for bosses. Its not fun setting up bosses and then having to delete them all over again if you make a mistake and wanted none for a certain field. Plus the bosses fill the powers in by default, which is even more annoying when you have a list of pow...

Re: Ferris Wheel Madness [384161]

Seems a lot of fun so far! I think I got about half way, but I've gotta run for now. Just wanted to give some first impressions: Love the choice of art assets - the tiles and backgrounds work well with the music, and give the level a playful feeling. A lot of the enemies you chose are fun and intere...

Re: A reason to make levels?

I keep forgetting why I continue to play this game. Maybe it's because it's free, or maybe I've finally lost control of my life. Is there any good reason to continue making levels? I don't seem to be improving in any way that I can notice. I fear that I might make a level that's more staid than Sta...

Re: Multiple boss weaknesses/immunities

What I mean by none is the icon with the big red X in weapon slot 5. In the current verison of Megaman maker the player is unable to select and save the big red X for Primary, Secondary and Resistance Powers. That is what I am meaning. Bosses start like that, with no weakness by default, but you're...

Re: MEGA MAN RE-BOOTED PT-2 (382794)

I feel players get conditioned to play a certain way when certain types of obstacles are put in front of them... Yeah, I think that's a part of the problem for sure. There are many ways to tackle different screens in different levels in Mega Man. I would encourage any players who get stuck on a scr...

Re: MEGA MAN RE-BOOTED PT-2 (382794)

Very nice! I like most of what I see here, but I'm a little put off by Fire Man's Fire Wall. Without Ice Slasher, it's super tight trying to get the key and make it out alive. I do recognize, however, that it makes more sense to come back around again after the fact for that exact reason. It's certa...

Re: MEGA MAN REBOOTED PT-1 [Final Version](ID:382437)

v2 Review: I like what you've done with the place! All my previous concerns were addressed, and I have no further gripes. :P My favorite change is that the alternate paths now seem to have two teleporters, which are marked to clearly indicate returning to the hub, or continuing with the current sta...

Re: MEGA MAN REBOOTED PT-1 [v2](ID:381383)

Not too shabby! :D Most of the level, in my opinion, is pretty interesting and fun to play through. I do have a couple small gripes, however. In Cut Man's stage, there's a path only accessible with Hyper Bomb in the bottom-right, and we are intended to go to the upper-left, but it took me a bit to r...

Re: How to properly showcase a level

I've always used NoelShack and it works just great. Yeah, but it's in French. And while it's still possible to use by just being told what to push and remembering what buttons do what, it's not ideal, unless you're a native French-speaker, which probably most of us are not. In any case, the method ...

Sounds like you have a vision for your project, but there isn't much information here about actual level design. Are you going to elaborate more on what we can expect in some of these levels? Post development updates? Or are you looking for advice? If you're looking to make levels that feel authenti...
