Re: PuzzleMan - ID: 347916

I tried playing it and it looks decent but becomes frustrating when you introduce your first gates/button. Many of the best Megaman levels have a bit of an adaptive buildup when introducing new concepts or mechanics that the gamer wouldn't be used to. When I get to that part of the level where you'r...

Re: Brick by Brick Challenge (Submissions)

Well, there is a problem and I don't know any enemy based on bricks, besides and apart, does a level of a medieval castle count?
[/quote]

I mean, castles are made of bricks, so yeah, I guess so.
Sry for not being super clear on this one. I'm still kind of a beginner at this.

Re: Brick by Brick Challenge (Submissions)

Ok. So to answer your questions, 'Brick by Brick' is the theme. This implies sort of rocky levels and whatnot.
As for the deadline, well I forgot to make one in my haste, so here's one.

DEADLINE: 9/15/2019
Also, yes. This is where you post your submissions.

Brick by Brick Challenge (Submissions)

In this challenge, you will make a brick themed level. The level must contain 22 rooms, (not including the boss hallway and boss room.) 1-2 gimmicks. Feel free to be creative with the enemies, just keep the theme in mind. Mega Buster must be the main weapon, and the level must be possible to beat by...

Re: Bright Man or Flash Man?

I voted for Flash Man, ONLY because of the awful memories I have of fighting Bright Man. His attacks are nearly impossible to dodge, and it just feels more like you got lucky by beating him, rather than skill...

Also, the prize for completing this challenge is for your level to be showcased on the forums! Ummm! Imho that's not a prize, anyone can showcase their own level in the level showcase section of the forums, so what's the difference? Honestly, I don't know. If you have any ideas for a prize let me k...

Re: What is the optimal amount of screens for a level?

So, for traditional levels, I'd say about 22 rooms. (NOT including the boss room/boss hallway.) If you're going for a non-traditional, such as puzzles or metroidvania, I'd say between 10-25 rooms for a puzzle and between 30-50 rooms for a metroidvania. Just my opinion on the matter. Hope that helps!...

TBC Level Challenge

Let's start off the Challenges with a hard one. The challenge is to build a turn-based combat system featuring basic attacks, special attacks, and items. I'm curious to see what you guys come up with!
Just post the level name, ID, and link in the comments.

Re: Sheep Man and Thunder Wool

If we're talking bosses not bothered by custom rooms, I'd rather have Solar Man, or failing that, Pump Man. Actually, come to think of it, Pump Man would be really cool. We need more water bosses. Solar Man also works as we also need more fire type bosses. Plus he has my favorite theme in the serie...

Re: Sheep Man and Thunder Wool

I feel like Strike Man would be a cool boss to go along with this. Honestly, his pattern wouldn't conflict with custom terrain and also, he's just cool! I'd want sandstorms but if they let you see everything and if you could edit how often they spawn and for how long they stay up.
I think i know exactly how they could work.
So they would act just like rain when you place it, but just like a yoku block, it would have a timer for when it blows.

Randomization

So i'm trying to make a turn-based level, and in order to make the enemy attacks work, I need randomizers. However, I'm stuck on ideas for how to make a random choice machine. Post you're ideas below, and I will get the level out as soon as possible! :D

Re: MMM Wily Stage 1: Blasting Through the Back Door (ID:259419)

This is one of the best designed levels I have played on MMM so far. Very well done and thought out. I had fun playing this (which is the highest praise any level can get) and it looked great for being a Wily Castle themed level. It definitely took me back to MM3 days (which was always my favorite o...

Re: Let There be Light... (Halloween Special Thingy)

Solid level. I really enjoyed the lava death powered by lasers. (That sounded sarcastic but it wasn't. It really was a neat invention.) The fight with Metal Man at the end really fit the level and was not overly difficult or easy but just right and the magnet in the room was fitting. I'm surprised w...
