Re: Bamboo platform
Yeah, I was thinking the same. They could serve as a "low tech" version of the MM10 floating platforms (a thin platform you can jump through underneath even if that is not how they functioned in MM2).

Re: Want a streamlined palette swap shader for the players?
How does it work? I'm curious. To determine the Hue as each pixel is drawn a 3 bit style Int value is created based on the pixel's RGB values: 0 = black 1 = blue 2 = green 3 = cyan 4 = red 5 = purple 6 = yellow 7 = gray/white Once that is determined it replaces the pixel's color with a color found ...

Re: Want a streamlined palette swap shader for the players?
I don't think the issue is using shaders or not.. I would imagine the issue is if the game maker engine ALLOWS for shaders. I don't use Game Maker Studio, but I imagine they don't have much shader support. Though I could be wrong. Besides a lot of tutorials I see use the white masking/overlay metho...

Want a streamlined palette swap shader for the players?
For most art assets in the game adding a palette swap shader isn't really needed. Those few enemies or tilesets that have multiple official palettes are small in frame count and palettes so duplicate sprite sets handle things just find. The playable characters on the other hand are a different story...

SImple suggestion for Charge Man.
In order to help him a bit with uneven terrain I would like to suggest giving Charge Man the ability to hop up/down smaller platforms during his walking AI cycle. Kind of like what Robot Masters such as Flash Man or Snake Man do when they are walking. He already has an animation frame that could pas...

Re: More colors for various enemies
Aside from a few that are expected to be a very specific color, such as the mets, I like this idea.

Re: Desert Bunker (ID: 507542)
Played it and had a good time. I more or less had to resort to a slug fest to beat Napalm Man but I won in the end.

Made this reshade of Gutsman to match him to the background prop Gutsmen you see in MM1 Wily stage 4: https://i.imgur.com/TGmZx9Z.png Should Gutsman make it into a future update it would be cool to have this as an alt palette option. Would fit well for miniboss battles or when having the player figh...

Re: Your Favorite Playable Character
Probably enjoy using vanilla rules Protoman the best. Shield gimmick along with sliding and basic chargeup buster. Very solid package. I also like his sense of style. I do agree with UlticraftMTT that assigning him the Proto Strike is normally completely broken, even if combined with double damage. ...

Re: How did DOOM age in your opinion?
Considering I recently made this mod for ZDoom that should indicate my answer. Classic DOOM is the gift that has kept on giving for the 25+ years. Shame modern developers didn't learn anything from ID software releasing the source code once they ceased development on DOOM engine games.

Re: Notable accomplishments you've achieved in your games
- Beat Castlevania 3's second quest on the harder American port (I has a few nasty new enemies than the 1st playthrough and all stages are set to max enemy damage.) - Beat the NES version of Final Fantasy 3 without using cheats. That final dungeon is an endurance mode nightmare. Its actually 2 full ...

Re: Jungle in the Bungle Caverns & Crystal Metal Remix
Oooh... a double feature! I'm always glad to see more levels showcased in a single post.... Thanks for the kind worlds. Glad you enjoyed the stages. Overabundance of conveyor belts which Metal Man (and later Dynamo Man) is known for feels out of place for me, personally... but it works. Heh, maybe ...

Jungle in the Bungle Caverns & Crystal Metal Remix
Hello there. Just wanted to promote two of the first three levels I designed: CRYSTAL METAL REMIX (https://megamanmaker.com/?level=:506044) https://i.imgur.com/B17S7Bc.png My first stage. As a way to get a handle on the editor I decided to recreate Metal Man's stage, but seeing what I could do with ...
