Re: MM6 Yamato Spear vs Centaur Flash

Probably a dumb idea for a Yamato Spear modification, but I'd love to see the idea of the spear head projectiles immediately dropping downwards upon colliding with enemies and possibly also walls, similar to one of Yamato Man's attacks during his boss fight. It would not only allow you to abuse ene...

Battle Theme Supressor

I was thinking about how RushJet1 did the music for the boss rush in Mega Man 2, and how cool it turned out. Then I realized that the same effect could be done with the help of the Music Changer (though it's not entirely necessary, just allows for more creative freedom, and it's not what I'm going t...

Re: Why not more minibosses?

The problem with Big Snakey and Octoper OA is that, the larger the space that the miniboss takes on screen, the less room there is for player-made terrain and layouts, which would make EVERY fight against these specific minibosses (and Wily Castle bosses for that matter) play out the EXACT SAME in ...

Re: How hard can a mega man level be?

The hardest level likely has a few things:
  • Long length
  • No checkpoints
  • No breather spots
  • Every challenge requires a frame 1 input
Such a level isn't likely to be fun in any way.

Re: Why not more minibosses?

I found a nifty video that shows all of the mini-bosses in the Mega Man series. I'll list all the ones from Mega Man 1-6 that Mega Man Maker doesn't have, and give my thoughts on them here (I'll do more later, but this post would be way too long if I did them all in one go): Anko (Lantern Fish): Li...

Re: Why not more minibosses?

Metall Potton: Okay, I'm being a little risky here, but hear me out. You place this one like a background, it's bound to the upper-right corner of the screen you place it in, but this thing appears THREE times in MM6 and EACH TIME it has a different floor layout! It works with custom terrains despi...

Centrifugal Inc. (Beta) (415322)

Round and round you go. When will you stop? After about 2 rotations. This is a beta version of a stage that's meant to be a part of a campaign. The Robot Master for this stage is Cyclone Man, the face of Centrifugal Inc., a company that builds and tests amusement park attractions. Nearly everything ...

Re: Bubble Lead Ideathread

Unlike Salt Water, though, Water Balloon is mechanically a good weapon. It doesn't do huge damage, but it's spammable and has a decent hitbox, so you can still play whole stages with it and not feel handicapped. MM8's weapons in general are all pretty underrated (aside from Flash Bomb, which everyo...

Re: Bubble Lead and Scorch Wheel

It already one-hit kills most non-miniboss enemies in MM7 as it is, why does it need even more attack power? And it won't even stay on-screen long enough to gain any significant boost anyway. If you hold the button down it stays around you for longer. I believe it would be long enough to give it th...

Re: Bubble Lead and Scorch Wheel

I wouldn't consider this the main issue with S. Wheel. Rather, it's the way it attempts to be a shield/crawler hybrid, with a very small hitbox when held. Plus it automatically releases after some time, and is one of the only fire weapons that actually fails underwater. Finally, certain ice floors ...

Re: MM5 Gyro Attack vs Napalm Bomb

I think I'll go with Napalm Bomb. I never liked Gyro Attack for whatever reason, and Napalm Bomb, while kinda lame, does have one of the best color combinations in the series. No love for Napalm Bomb :( Although, I can't think of many things to set it apart from things like Hyper Bomb or Wild Coil. ...

Re: More boss door variations

I'd like some Mega Man 8 boss door skins. Those always looked cool. Though I suppose they're 1X4 instead of 2X4 so they'd have to be a separate object. I would also suggest that boss doors be moved to the Misc table instead of being with the bosses. I'm not sure that's entirely necessary. It's kind ...

Re: Bubble Lead Ideathread

Sorry :( I just wanted people to stop arguing over whether Bubble Lead should increase or decrease solution acidity. The whole Bubble Lead being acid thing is just an attempt to find a real-life justification for being hurt by an otherwise-harmless object such as a bubble. Here in the west half of ...

Re: Bubble Lead Ideathread

Sorry to break it to you, but the comics and manga made up their own canon because Bubble Lead is actually just plain old water, that's it. It's just a bubble of water. You see, Japan doesn't care about whether a videogame character's attack would be actually harmful in real life or not, they just ...

Re: MM6 Yamato Spear vs Centaur Flash

Both weapons are redundant due to the presence of Laser Trident and Gravity Hold, but I don't not want them in because of that. To make Yamato Spear not just a spammier Laser Trident, I'd make it have a spreadshot. Could be a bit overpowered though. You could also have it fire the entire spear inste...

Re: Dark man 3

Dark Man 4 has the most overall diversity, but I can't deny that Dark Man 3's superior mobility is certainly appealing. Looking back at some footage Dark Man 4 doesn't use Dark Man 3's paralysis (instead opting to just take the ability to jump). Not gonna lie though, If they added Dark Man 3 & Dark...

Re: Top Speed (ID: 412420)

About the weapons, aside for the ones required to obtain the items and the access to the alternative path, I tried to study them to make the choice always satisfying in one way or another, so I'm happy you felt your choice was good :D And it shows. I played the stage twice to check all the weapons ...

I haven't sat down to learn it, but from what I have done in it I'm pretty sure it's basically just Java.

This would also be a great way to approach Fuse Man, if the background wire issue could ever get resolved.
No need. Fuse Man doesn't teleport, he just moves quickly.
