Re: I decided never sharing levels with anyone online except my friends

I have investigated about why people vote some levels up, the result is, people always votes up 1: the level they can complete, generally easy difficulty 2: the level posted by their friends, or the level designer skill same as or near at the voter himself, I mean, never better than the voter, You ...

Re: Hex-Chamber (ID:75052)

The level performs significantly better now as of v1.0.4.1, people should try it out. As I have finally been able to complete all six paths, here is some feedback: *In general, there are many instances of temporary moving platforms, such as after directly exiting a boss door, or a room in Path 4, wh...

Re: Delete-Screen and Copy-Screen

I agree, an easy way to delete a specific screen or to copy the contents of one screen to another screen would be very helpful, and speed up level design time significantly, especially when it comes to making mapping revisions.

Not sure if this is a glitch or not, but countdown bomb platforms won't activate if you jump the exact frame you land on one.

Re: So, i guess i have low standards...

It is common to have an attachment to games you grew up with, or introduced you to a series, even if other people don't like it. I personally dislike Sonic Adventure 2, but I understand a certain generation of people grew up with it, and have a nostalgia for it, despite the numerous flaws I personal...

Re: Megaman Wily Wars

Pretty fun remake, a shame it never got an official Sega Genesis release. Found some of the music tracks to be superior to the originals, while others are inferior to the originals. Visuals are also hit and miss. Not perfect by any means, but still fun and enjoyable for what it is, plus its multiple...

Re: Is a boss being harder than a stage bad game design?

In my opinion, a boss should be anywhere between on par with the level's overall difficulty, to slightly harder than the level's overall difficulty. It shouldn't be excessively harder than the level to the point of being unfair though. If a boss is far easier than the level you traversed to reach it...

Re: checkpoints and extra challenging sections

I personally put checkpoints just before challenging sections, but I also always put checkpoints just before a boss room.
I usually like to have at least 1-3 slightly easier screens to calm down the player a bit, between the last big challenge of the level, and the transition into the boss area.

Re: this requires precision (id 78133)

Pretty fun platforming challenge. I felt the sections between the moving platform segments where kind of dull and didn't fit the precision theme that well. The boss being just Bomb Man was a bit anti-climactic, as I was expecting some sort of gimmick. I had a few deaths, mostly misjudging my jumps o...

Re: this requires precision (id 78133)

Also getting the level not found error.
I assume either the level ID is incorrect, or the level was deleted for some reason by the creator.

Update: I tracked down the level to the new ID of 82798. Guess the level was updated at some point after the author's posting.

Re: One Screen Puzzle: Skull Mysteries | ID: 77037

Interesting puzzle, not sure if I completed it as intended though, since I didn't use the red rising block at all nor did I use either of the two mini weapon energies.

Re: Rush Rider of Desert ID:81244

Not really a level within my skill level, as I couldn't complete it, but it certainly is creative use of the Rush Jet and rather fun despite its rough difficulty. I could see players with a higher skill level and better reflexes than me certainly enjoying this. This level is a good tool for people t...

Re: Forest Trial: ID 65951

The only mistake I made was on the second falling block puzzle, just before the boss, but it didn't cost me a life as the exit teleporter sent me downwards, instead of upwards into the spikes.

I think the hints are pretty obvious as they are.

Re: Mine Your Own Business (ID: 72522)

That level was really fun. The difficulty and pacing felt just right. The weapons choices also felt very well done, if you choose to use them. They where both useful for tools for progressing through the level, and as tools to make the boss fight easier. The boss fight was challenging, but not frust...

Re: Hex-Chamber (ID:75052)

Seems like an interesting level concept and the level design seems well thought out from what I've seen of it, but the lag I'm getting from this level is way too painful in its current state for me to have the patience to complete it. Hopefully an update to Mega Maker in the future can cut down on l...

Re: Brick Man [ID: 76646]

I have played various highly populated 40-55 screen levels with no lag before, but this is the first level I've ever played with noticeable lag, to the point I felt it had a significant negative impact on the way I controlled Mega Man. http://i.imgur.com/7CF5opX.png There is also some very problemat...

Nice to see someone found a way to make a boss rematch area work in Mega Maker, even if it requires glitches to pull off.

Great job.

Re: Twists N Turns

I must say the level is fun, and its difficulty really keeps itself open to people of many different skill levels. Admittedly I'm not a fan of maze-like levels where it is easy to get lost or confused, but I must say that you developed it in a way where even someone who is not normally comfortable w...

Re: Level Description?

I'd rather the creators of Mega Maker make an approved set of level tag words, so players can tag their level with what they feel is appropriate for their level.

Like said above, giving people full creative freedom to write in large bodies of text could potentially lead to trouble.
