Help! Want to put old PC games on Laptop with Win10

Post by Megamanvwxyz » Tue Sep 18, 2018 1:53 am

I just bought two old PC games meant for computers that ran on Windows 95 and 98, and I want to put them on my laptop that runs on Windows 10, is there anyway to do this? In case you need to know what games they are, they're listed below.

Avery Cardoza's Casion and
Sim Theme Park gold edition.

If anyone can help me get these running on Windows 10 it would be much appreciated!

Did some Google searches to see what I could find...

Avery Cardoza's Casino: Can't find much information on this game.

Sim Theme Park: Apparently This game uses something referred to as "SafeDisc copy protection" and the driver files normally used in relation to this are so old that they aren't normally supported by Windows 10.
Due to my current inability to play MMM in a satisfactory manner on either of my devices, I will be on hiatus from activity for an indefinite period of time.

Maybe go into Properties for each game's executable and set them to run on compatibility mode for Windows 95/98 or something?

I went into properties, there doesn't seem to be a compatibility mode.

I guess that means I'm screwed, unless I can find an older laptop/computer that runs on Windows 95 or 98 and is in good working condition.

If Sim Theme Park is popular enough, there may be some unoffical fan made patches floating around out there on the internet to make it function on Windows 10, but other than that, I'm not really sure.

Unfortunatly, I don't really know much about the Sim Theme Park games or how popular its fanbase is, as I'm more of a Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 & 2 type of person.

emulators themselves aren't really illegal, it is the program you running on the emulator that makes it illegal.

A Virtual Machine is an emulator, and it is perfectly legal.

Running a copy of Windows( that you have the original discs and key) on an emulator is legal.

Running a pirated copy of Windows 95 is illegal.

Right click on the exe file and go to properties, there should be compatibility mode.
