Starting a Mega Man fan sprite-comic!

Post by BenPlusMM » Wed Oct 24, 2018 11:02 pm

title
Spritesheets courtesy of The Spriter's Resource. It was a painstaking process to download all these.
I'll post the first strip... when it's done.
(EDIT: This might take a while... The only art program I have is MS Paint, and that's really hard to work with.)

I think Piskel can work, it's free and you don't need to download it, and it was made for doing pixel art unlike MS Paint. It's not the most professional pixel art tool, but it works if you're starting down and you don't want to waste any money.

paint.net is a pretty decent bitmap editor, has many more features than MSPaint. Have you tried it?

GIMP is a good choice for pixel art and many other things. Alternatively, Inkscape can do vector art, but I don't know if you want it to be pixelated.

No, no, no. Pixil is very good to make pixel sprite and stuff. Also, you can make GIFs and change how big you want your final project.
I mean when downloading your work.

You know recently I've had a concept for Mega Man Maker Comics. They would basically be about a series that swaps between Mega man maker itself focusing on Mega man, Proto man, Bass, and all of the confirmed robot masters, and also features the lives of the users on the forums in a style similar to those minecraft videos made by exploding TNT (if you don't know who that is look it up on youtube), examples of characters for the forum stories would be Snivymaster, Blast man, me, etc... and even the devs, the modderators, the robot masters yet to be implemented as sometimes background characters, and even Bucket.

I tried to make this pretty good.
By the way, the only reason that I could get the text in there is via finicky .pdf formatting and Snipping Tool.
Anyways, here ya go.

Now I need ideas for a follow-up. Hmm... maybe an attack at Dr. Light's lab?

Same with GIMP.

Note: I do have GIMP, but my feeble brain can’t comprehend the UI.
