Megaman 1 Upgraded

Hi everyone !

This compilation I've made is my version of MMPU in 8-bit.
Something that I wished for since ages, so thanks to the MMMaker team to make this possible for us !

I wanted to make levels that recreate the same atmosphere as Megaman 4-5-6 (those are my favourites), with the same kind of graphic touch.
I take some liberties to add several ennemies from other MM game to reinforce the theme of each stage.

You can access directly to the stage by clicking on the Robot Master name.

Loading Time Man Stage can take a while. I know it's annoying, but please be patient.

In each level, you've got an alternative path just like in MMPU which require a special weapon to access, and lead to a secret key.

The game rule is, by collecting the eight keys, you can access to the Shine special weapon.

Each levels begin by a room where you can choose which special weapons you've already gain, then you've got a second room where you can pick the Shine weapon if you've collected the eight keys. Of course you're perfectly free to cheat or to play by the game rules, it's up to you. The point is having fun ! Thunder Beam is associate with the Rush Jet Pack, and Power Stone (replaces Super Arm) is associate with the Rush Power Pack.

Every Robot Master takes their MMPU weaknesses as major weaknesses, and Original MM1 weaknesses as second weaknesses (except for Fire Man => Time Slow as second weakness, and Cut Man => Oil Slider as second weakness)
For Time Man & Oil Man, their second weaknesses are respectively Ice Slasher and Power Stone (Super Arm)

I'm currently building the levels for the second Castle (Wily Castle), because I want to do something like MM4-5-6, which got 2 castles. I named the first one (already made) the Yellow Devil Castle because the last stage should normally ends with the Yellow Devil, and it's an emblematic boss of the first MM.

The 3rd Wily Castle may also take a while to load, due to the fact that it's the 8 RM Rematch level.

All of the stages look beautiful, man.

I just now started playing this level series, and I've found a little small error in Bomb Man's stage.

The first four Castle stages are now done.

They are respectively remakes of Cut Man GB stage, Ice Man GB stage (and Guts Man NES), CWU-01P stage and Yellow Devil stage (both PSP & NES).

I named it the Yellow Devil Castle, I explain why in my first post.

For the second Castle (Wily Castle), I will remake Fire Man GB stage, Elec Man GB stage, Copy Robot stage (with the rematch) and Wily Machine 1 stage.

Hey guys ! (and girls ^^)

I've just finished the first Wily Castle stage, you can access to it in my updated first post.

Wily decided to raise his Castle in the middle of a desert land. Megaman needs to find his way for an entrance into the building. For that, he needs to go through the desert, where he cross an old abandonned shrine that allows him to climb to a secret entrance to Wily Castle. But the place is full of capricious sands and Wily's Robots are already here, guarding the backdoor.

The stage is a remake of the Elec Man GB stage + some screens of the Bomb Man NES stage, but with A LOT of changes.
I hope in 1.6 we'll have the special stage music (or the GB music) cause I'd like to use Heart of Enker music (remix of the Wily Castle GB music) for this stage. For now it use Top Man music which is also great !

Unfortunately, I don't have any feedbacks since I published the eight Robot Master ... but still I continue creating levels for this game ! Hopefully it will pleases those who played and liked the game even if they didn't comment it. So one more level and two left to be done !

This level is the remake of the Fire Man GB stage. Once again, I think it's difficult to recognize it ! For once, I wanted that a Wily Castle level, actually looks like a Castle ! Even if this one is fire themed.

I've already started the next level which will contains the rematch against the 8 RM. It won't take long before I publish it. In the meantime, I hope you'll enjoy this one. :)

I wouldn't call this Mega Man 1 upgraded. Mega Man 1 Upgraded I would be expecting the exact same levels with newer graphics. These vary too much for the original. I would call it 'Mega Man Redux' or something.

Well, I hesitated a long time for the name. At the very base, it's a demake of MMPU, and I wanted something more positive like "up something", than negative as "down something". I chose the name while I was making the Robot Masters stages and I didn't plan at this time to do what I did for the Castle stages, so honestly it doesn't matter to me since it's unofficial, and names should be attributed when a game is finally done.

But I understand What you mean, if I had to name it today it will be something like "Megaman 1 Origins" but it's too late now, maybe with the next updates I'll probably reupload all my stages cause there will be some new stuffs to add, and so I'll be able to change all names at once.

I was hoping for feedbacks about the levels themselves :| Did you enjoy it at least ?
