I'm thinking of making a level based on country or a dependency, but I'm not sure what sure which one(s) to base my level(s) off of. What country/dependency do you think makes a good basis for a level?

(P.S. I am not trying to imply that any countries or dependencies do not make good bases for a Mega Man Maker level.)

(P.P.S. The purpose of the poll is to narrow down the scope of countries and dependencies.)

(P.P.P.S. I'm thinking about Chad, Myanmar, or Norway, but I want to hear your opinion.)

Mexico. We have pretty much all biomes, but most of it is a forest/desert variation of them, so you can use either of those themes.

(what i'm basically saying is that the U.S. is one of the few places a cowboy wild west themed level could take place)

Thank you. Sounds like a good idea. Perhaps the sections of a Mexico-based level could be based on the political divisions of Mexico, as I'm willing to bet the environments of said divisions vary enough to make the level asthetic interesting.

Perhaps this is the case. I'm not against the idea of a 'Wild West America' stage, but there's much more to base an American level off of. To give you an example of an American level concept, one could base a level off the 'parky peaks of mountainous Montana' as well as the 'briny beach of fiery Florida', or something like that. But thank you for the idea, as it still could be a cool concept for a stage.

Er I mean I think with the basis of tool, you could make levels off of big and colorful cities like Tokyo, or could use the castle background and other assets to make a denmark or scottish scene.

Mega Man 6's boss levels are all based on different countries, so pretty much any country can be a basis for a level.

I don't know. I do feel that Search man and Aqua man assets are good for both South American and African themed levels. But I would say Plant man assets and Maybe Stone man assets would probably do as well in some places.

Honestly I think Australia could be a good country for a level.
I mean, Australia has rocky deserts, modern city's and more places. Now that I think about it I should make a MMM level/game set in Australia.

This is a very weird question and a very weird approach of level-design.

You should focus one more important things like enemies, gimmicks, layout, introductions, challenge, balance, etc...

The theme doesn't have to be explicit or generic, it can somewhat be fanciful, that's kinda the point of MM since it is set in a dystopian weird future.

Hey, I was scrolling through some of the old topics I had made and I saw that I hadn't responded to this when I probably should have. You made a good point: I am sorry for not responding. Enemies, gimmicks, layout, introductions, challenge, balance, and whatnot are (I would say) more important than a level's aesthetic. However, I meant for the point of this topic to be a discussion of level aesthetics. But to be fair, that's something I should've clarified in the topic or its description.

All in all, you made a good point, sorry for leaving it hanging.
