I'VE FIGURED OUT A WAY TO MAKE GEMINI MAN WORK!

I have an idea that could allow Gemini man to function better in MMM! What if we give him a new first attack. Originally Gemini man's first attack is running around the room in circles with his clone and shooting at you everytime you made contact with the ground. What if his first move was remade to something similar but different? Here is how it would go, when the battle starts, Gemini man immediately splits into two but instead of running around, he and his clone jump over mega man and stand next to him on both sides 6 tiles away from mega man, from which, after every 1 second, Gemini man and his clone fire 3 shoots at mega man, then they jump and try to take turns landing on mega man 3 times and then the pattern repeats. Once at half health, Gemini man enters his normal second phase.

You're probably gonna have to visualize it so we can see it in action somehow.

Hi, so three questions.

1. What would happen if you were at a wall and they hit it, do they overlap each other?

2. Do they change direction to shoot at you if say your to the left of both of them?

3. Just to check, they do jump over you before doing those two attacks again, right?

Were there any specifics for why Gemini Man didn't work besides it having to do with the clone? Is it just hard to program a boss that can become two bosses, then revert to one?

For what I know of, it's because his pattern with his first phase didn't do well with custom terrain

I honestly have a problem with "it won't work in custom terrain." For the most part, robot masters could work in custom terrain hypothetically, but only if it doesn't restrict them in any way. Putting a robot master in a box of tiles, for example, essentially doesn't work for any robot master, because they're designed to move and jump and attack Mega Man. And it's not like they need to care about that, considering most levels made here aren't good in terms of general game design anyway.

Your absolutely right and I feel the same way. Part of me is starting to think that maybe it's not that they can't add Gemini man. Maybe they just don't want him.

Actually, that depends on if the Robot Master is able to attack vertically or his projectile homes in on the player. That's why Charge Man and Top Man work in any type of room even though they can't jump, but Fire Man and Heat Man have not been added yet (Fire Man only shoots forward, and Heat Man's projectiles don't go through blocks). The latter two need small fixes that make them able to attack from the box of tiles.
