I might have a solution that will make Fortress bosses work

Some people have said that not every fortress boss would work due to custom terrain and a whole bunch of other contributors that would pose as an issue for the bosses themselves. While there are ones that could work without these issues, a decent amount of fortress bosses are terrain based, meaning that their movement could be obstructed. That's why I have a solution for these fortress bosses should they ever put them in Mega Man Maker.

So to make some of them work, my only possible solution is to allow the player to place the boss's room itself where ever they want. It may be limited all things considered, but I feel that's the greatest way to make fortress bosses work. As I've said, not all of them have issues with custom terrain, but if all fortress bosses are like this, then it will make implementing them much easier for the team.

What do you guys, think? Any other suggestions on how to get fortress bosses to work in Mega Man Maker?

Interesting, but it would also be good if the boss to be placed already has the room with him instead of making one. ;) ;)
Let me know if this is what I wanted to imply. :?

Fortress bosses are pretty varied, and while some would have to BE the room themselves as you said, others are more customizable, and a few could even be assembled from components (like the Kamegoro Maker and its whirlpool generators)

Even with bosses that occupy almost the entire screen, such as the Guts Dozer, the solution to giving them a custom room would be simply to attach several screens both vertically and horizontally (like a 3x2 room/section) to create a custom boss room big enough to fit such bosses in.

So what you're suggesting is a premade room, much like a block, that can be placed in a custom map that is pre-loaded with a boss? Like a wholesale drop of a large room complete with boss?

Simple and brilliant! This would not only make fortress bosses possible, but also Robot Masters that require specific terrain or rooms.

It's an excellent solution to be able to introduce something to MMM that otherwise wouldn't be possible. Hopefully it can be coded that way in MMM to make it a reality.

Or they can just expand the bosses grid space so that they can't be placed if there isn't enough space for their movement patterns.

Interesting solution, but most likely won't happen if they see it as limiting creativity.

As much as i want fortress bosses in MMM, I strongly oppose to this. It limits creativity and is just lazy, i think a better solution is to make the things that make the boss problematic its own gimmick,
like for the crab thing from mm10, you just set it to either move in one direction constantly or just stand still, but what about the infinite auto-scroller? well just make those its own gimmick, Auto-scrollers have been requested a bit and astro man's maze part infinitely loops.

How would auto-scrolling work in MMM? This probably deserves its own thread.

I would work like Dr. Cossack Stage 3, as for how you set it just have a gimmick block that when walked past starts the auto scroll going in one direction and at a certain speed with an end block somewhere after.

Like, would there be an object similar to the Rain spawner? You place in multiple screens, set one of four possible directions, and the screen moves until it reaches a screen without an autoscroll object.
