Hello.
If you are like me, you enjoy having freedom in your level design. I figured that technically, text editing is a modification to the game, so this thread may as well go here.
Anyways, as you may know, text editing allows you to do all sorts of interesting things with tiles, enemies, and gimmicks. However, it's pretty convoluted and time-draining. Some of that has been relieved with the Mega Man Maker Level Editor, which allows you to place tiles however you please (at the time of posting, only tiles up to 1.6.3 have been included), and I heavily thank the people who made that.
However, a flaw exists with it. It allows you to place down enemies, spawn points, and gimmicks, and to edit some details of them, but it attributes the Object IDs to them, and doesn't tell you what they mean, nor what some variables do. This is where my endeavors come in. I have compiled the Object IDs and their corresponding elements in a spreadsheet- so the Mega Man Maker community can do all sorts of things with the information. You can make spinning platforms and conveyors go faster, for example. I was originally going to post this around a week ago, but I realized that it would become useless and outdated unless I also included 1.7.0 features, which is why I've waited.
Feel free to use this information however you see fit. I may update it in the future. Thank you!

Yes, my content and interests are very specific, but so is this forum.

Wow dude, you put together a looooot of data.
Totally bookmarking this.
I don't usually do a lot of text editing (or indeed, upload anything), but I like to tinker.
If the MMLE gets updated for 1.7, I'd be super into that as well.
Thanks for compiling this info into an easy to reference spreadsheet.

It will be updated, but when exactly is unknown. Firstject on his Trello wrote that he has started work on adding tileset from 1.7.0Zephadus wrote: ↑Wed Jan 13, 2021 1:25 amWow dude, you put together a looooot of data.

Re: Text Editing- Made Easier Than Ever
I have a problem with the level editor in 0.7.2. I want to open my level already done from MMM but nothing is happening.
What's the problem with that?

Re: Text Editing- Made Easier Than Ever
The only things I can think of are that you haven't saved your level, you're not entering in the correct file, or that it's a glitch. It's probably the latter. To avoid the first two, click "file", then "open", and then click on your level of choice (assuming that the UI opens to the correct folder. I doubt that you had trouble with that fairly straight-forward part, though. In the case that it's a glitch, you can either try again or use a different version. I'm not sure how you'd report a glitch on the level editor, but if you did, that'd be the optimal solution, because it would likely prevent it from happening again, after the next version's release.
I hope you get this sorted out!
