I think this could be a good suggestion, I need to know if you can add the possibility of adding enemies that release the keys that are going to be taken and that the doors have more locks, could it be?
let me see what you think of that
It could serve as a good puzzle for many. :)

Enemies dropping a key upon death? Yes.

Doors that require many keys to open? Err... Not really necessary.

But hey! If they can't make enemies drop keys, they can make a second Party Ball object (of a different color) that instead of ending the level drops an item decided by the player (Powered Up has those). One such item could be a key, you then put that Party Ball out of reach behind a miniboss, and there you go, the player can't proceed until the miniboss is taken out.

If they give the ability to make an enemy drop a key from being defeated, what would happen if that enemy is respawned? Would it drop another key upon being defeated again, or only the first time it is defeated?
Due to my current inability to play MMM in a satisfactory manner on either of my devices, I will be on hiatus from activity for an indefinite period of time.

Maybe that could be a good idea, but I only thought about it because it could work as a mystery for many. But I see well that the thing of the enemies is not a very good idea.

Only the first time and the key would have to not disappear. I personally only really want this so that players can't damage boost through minibosses.
