Site/forum feedback [OUTDATED]

Post by WreckingPrograms » Sat Jul 01, 2017 6:42 pm

If you have any feedback or suggestions for the website or forums, please post them in this thread. The rest of the forum should be used exclusively for feedback or suggestions for the game itself.
Created this game, I guess.

I think the lowercase i looks too much like the uppercase one in the font used for things like the topic titles. Also, it would be nice if we had an art board like the one on the SMBX forums.

Agreed.

Also, a way to acess the main page (this one) from the forums would be pretty nice.

The "Mega Man and all related content is (C)Capcom.." text on the main page is going out of the box. I noticed it on Firefox 54.0.1 and Opera 12.15.

Yeah, but ability to click the link would be easier. In phpBB, at least 3, you can link to stuff from both the menu and even embed link as a forum section. I've did it on few forums I've moderated/acted as admin and it's quite easy to do actually.

The developers read the suggestion forum, right?

Yes, but there are too many threads to reply to every single one of them.

Official sanctified P2P/Torrent/magnet links when?
e.g.
https://2hu-ch.org/t/db7be902fbc3a3fec0 ... b1e40aea23

Please do make suggestion on thread here and there. You need I2P or TOR to post on that network.
http://nntpchan.info has a small list of available nodes.

I recommend using NoFile.io as the host for the mirror of Mega Maker's ZIP archive. Here is a link to the new version that I uploaded to it which you can replace the MediaFire link with:

Complementing Zero3K's post, here's an attempt to a torrent and extended magnet link:

Please critique here and there, esp. there.

Also, I have to say that a more "Mega Man-y" theme for the forums would be pretty nice. The only thing I see changed from the default theme are the normal topic icons, with nothing else changed.

I originally posted this in a general discussion thread because I didn't see this thread because the suggestions section just said "suggestions for the game" so I didn't think to look there. So before I get to the actual subject, I'd recommend changing that to say "game and site". Now, back to the main topic:

So, with this game exploding in popularity, it's clear that it's going to be hard to get your own levels played due to everybody posting their own threads for every level in the level showcase. Having one level per thread also means if they want to link to their levels on their forum profile, they'll need to do something like post thread links or IDs in their signature.

Does anybody think it might be better to limit/enforce it to one thread per user? That way, they can constantly update their first post with all of their levels, and post in the topic each time they add one. If they want to easily link somebody to all of their levels, they can just link to that one thread. It would make it easier to play a bunch of levels by a specific user you like instead of filtering through a flood of topics.

I think its kinda confusing when "Download" is yellow on the home page of www.mega-maker.com
I think instead the active page should be yellow.
So when you enter www.mega-maker.com, Home should be yellow. When you click Download, Download should become yellow, and so on.

I'm not a member of the site team, but I can tell you that won't be happening any time soon as it would require these forums to host the picture on their servers taking up valuable space and bandwidth. It's best to have it rely on other larger websites dedicated to that sort of thing, so upload it to Imgur and wrap the url of the image from that site in the image tags.

Hi Mega Maker staff!

I have what I hope is a simple question for you guys - Is there any specific place in this forum to ask for help playing levels or discuss gameplay techniques? It happens that I'm stuck at the beginning of a certain level and I have no clue how to pass the very first obstacle, and I believe it's because I don't know the specific technique required. I don't think it's a very obvious trick to do (I played and finished a few hard Kaizo-like levels and managed to figure out what to do so far... until this one), and I can't find any entry at the 'level showcase' forum, so I can't ask the level's maker.

I don't think this kind of issue fits neither at 'level showcase' nor at 'level design discussion', and might be a too specific thread for the general discussion... Where do I ask for this kind of help? Do we need a new dedicated sub-forum for this?

Thanks for all this you are creating, buds!
