So, somebody once (or twice) suggested Rush Search to be added in 1.5. Well now we have 1.5 but no Rush. Why? Because of complicated programming of some things Rush digs up, I mean B O L T S
Yeah. Bolts are the only problem here, I think so. Buuuuuuut I have an idea for how it can work! The answer is...
















...removing bolts. Yeah, so I have two options:
1) Rush Search can dig up Health and Energy capsules, some other scraps that will disappear after a while. No Bolts. No problem.

2) Rush can also dig up Bolts. I figured out if shop will get added, if wouldn't be fair to get Bolts everytime we pick them up in a level.
So, every Bolt Rush will dig up Mega Man can collect. Bolts give a portion of health as well as energy:
-Small Bolt gives 5 health and weapon energy.
-Big Bolt gives 10 health and 10 weapon energy.

Rush Search shouldn't dig up Yashichis, Weapon/Character Capsules or E/M Tanks. Keys count here as well.

It is probably possible, digging up can work like the Wheel of Fortune. I think it will work but should be added in 1.7. Whad do you think?

I would go with option 1, eliminate bolts entirely.

But I was wondering... Remember how, by digging on very specific places, Rush would dig up one-time permanent power-ups like the Energy Balancer and the PU Fist? What if we had a "buried item" object, that could be set up to contain a key, weapon capsule, or some other one-time thing? When Rush Search digs it up, the "buried item" object is permanently destroyed (this is remembered by checkpoints). The "buried item" would be an invisible tile, so it's up to the level creator to use good level design to hint the player where to dig.

But a buried item object sounds good. It may work, but imagine programming an invisible tile that is placed on tiles. In my opinion it should be some kind of a crack in a tile. Like those steam cracks in Wave Man's Stage

I'm pretty sure that only applies to powerups/key items you can find with Rush Search. (e.g. Exit utility, Auto's Megabolt i forgot what it was called)

For one-time power-ups like the Energy Balancer, yes. For more common things like life capsules, it can find them anywhere.

How about the invisible object is placed in the empty square ABOVE the tile you're supposed to dig into?

I haven't mentioned shop, because of bolts shop can't be added so at least there should be effect given to bolts R. Search digs up or removing them.
