Tornado Man's battery lifts

Post by Buster » Mon Aug 19, 2019 12:19 am

Upgraded to be both vertical and horizontal!

1) Why?:
The original battery lifts is a pretty vestigial twist on drop lifts and in my opinion a waste of potential. I think this gimmick needs a makeover that will give it an awesome new purpose.

2) How?:
Horizontal and vertical battery lifts will be their own gimmicks. Both will be placed down like crash lifts, but only within their alignment and without turns, able to be placed right next to each other. The end points would be put down automatically, and would take no builder mask.

Horizontal battery lifts would work like they did in Tornado Man's stage. There could also be a secondary type that would let the player magnetize to them from below.

Vertical battery lifts would magnetize players when they jump at them from the sides, and spin them to the other side. Players can jump off any time to go to the side they're on, and it could work like a jump from the ground. There could also be a secondary type that wouldn't spin.

3) Difficulty:
Medium-easy to medium. Don't think there will be many problems involved.

I support this, as we could always use more interesting semi-solid platforms. The vertical variants could possibly be used to simulate wall-jumping without weapons.
My only worry is that, since MMM is built in Mega Engine like MaGMML2, would the battery platforms have the same issues as in the latter game?

No, that issue is something that can be avoided.

I think these as outlined would be excellent additions to the game.

I feel like this would really open up variety in terms of level designing. I just wonder how long it would take before players found ways to break the lifts?
