who would even be cast to play Mega/Rock?
Live-action = SUCK, and I'll tell you why:
If an American director tries to make a live-action movie of a Japanese property (e.g. Dragon Ball, Death Note, Pokemon...) disaster will happen. Why? Because said director is a 50-something old fart who never watched anime and is going to completely butcher the source material by making it 100% American culture-wise, with completely different values and viewpoints on what characters should be like.
Furthermore, the flashy feats that are shown in animation are outright impossible in real life, and even computer-generated special effects can only go so far.
And then there's the characters' visual designs. You think they're making the movie for us hard-core nerds of the franchise? HELL NO! The movie is aimed at normal people, and the characters are going to be re-designed with the current era and culture's sensibilities! None of the cartoony childish designs we see in our beloved games! They would look absolutely RIDICULOUS when translated to live-action!
So no... DON'T look forward to a live-action movie! Just don't.
