The Super Smash Bros. Megathread

Post by Blast Man » Sat Dec 01, 2018 7:16 pm

Since we had too much threads about it, we will now have one about it.

What is Super Smash Bros.
Well, the game is pretty much THE BIGGEST VIDEO GAME CROSSOVER EVER! Characters from Nintendo and even third-party brands clash using powers, items, and many more!
This thread is mainly for the upcoming game Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, but feel free to chat about the others.

DLC:
Joker from Persona

Can i get photography examples?
I can't help but smile and give you 1 example.
Behold, some among the many fighters you can find!

Tons of shit tiers from Smash 4 got giant buffs.
Apparently Palutena, Zelda, Ganon, Link, Shulk, and a few others are jumping from D tier up to high tier at the very least based on what people have seen
Pikachu, Pichu, and Young Link seem OP af according to top players
Bayo is still probably AIDS

Lots to see in the game soon lol
Assault on the Citadel 183101
Magic Bouncing Ball 307148
Electric Terrain 121647
Final Transmission 257962
Final Transmission 2 155321
Panicked Pursuit 170589
Triple Kaizo Trouble 251465
Fighting Infernal Flames 272513
Disastrous Factory 281324

My favourite characters out of all possible characters is Wario, he feels better than in 4 and Brawl to play

Mega Man used to be my favourite character to play as but he feels weird now
Sheep Man, Enker, Tundra Man, Block Man, Wheel Cutter, and Bounce Ball for 1.6

Cheat Man if fangame content ever comes

Jigglypuff got quite the buff for smash 5, but they are still extremely light, it's hardly even funny. I beat a lvl. 9 Jigglypuff FLU in 4.5 seconds, with one attack.
Basically saying, NEVER play as pichu.

It's likely lots of people disagree with this, but I believe smash 4 is the best game I the seres. Brawl and melee are overrated.
4 has the best balance (other than the dlc) and is feature rich.
Let's get real here melee has too many echoes and brawl has awful blaance

Smash 4:
- Everything is floaty as fuck
- Confusing menu
- Bullshit combos
- Best characters are locked behind a paywall
- Said Characters break any sense of balance
- Barely any singleplayer content besides the Mario Party shitshow
- Removal of classic characters like Ice Climbers
- Inferior version outsold the Wii U version

But yeah, still the best game in the series, even though Melee is the most competitively played game in Smash history and has the highest skill ceiling. Overrated. Brawl? Garbage. Smash 4 is obviously the best game.

(((if you havent noticed i dont like smash 4)))

My SMASH GAME TIER LIST
(of SMASH GAMEs)

1: Brawl (has all the good features, only flaw is lack of MM)
2: Ultimate (like brawl, but faster and with less features)
3: 3DS (wii u but good)
3: Melee (like brawl, but too fast, broken, and with less features)
4: Wii U (smash tour)
5: N64 (you can beat this in one sitting, Falcon is locked at first)

3DS and Melee are tied. I like them the same.
idk what im doing anymore

ultimate and 4 are just better versions of brawl, which is sad because 4 is pretty trashy.

@ everyone saying that melee is overrated: i honestly thought like that at first, but if you look at it under a competitive angle and slightly get into it, it's a really good game.

Worst to best: & Bump & Knuckles
Just a note: All of these are exceptional fighting titles. This is just my preferentials and why.

Worst: Melee
This is a very good game with friends and for competitive tournaments, as well as having plenty of value for casual home gamers. The problems? It has an abundance of glitches, the character roster has very little balance, the hitboxes are awfully disjointed, most of the stages are pretty bland, and the game doesn't feel clean or polished.
Bad: Brawl
This game is very unique when it comes to Smash Brothers, but it's not an excellent thing. The tripping mechanics and the floaty recovery makes for a sometimes frustrating experience. But the worst offender is the roster. Character matchups are ridiculous, Meta Knight, and the unfairness given to slower characters like Bowser and Ganondorf.
Good: Ultimate
This is an excellent competitive and casual title that can even compare to Melee. The problems? The roster seems only psudeo-balanced, with some characters feeling WAY more powerful than others! This game is just full of filler and echoes, so the character rosters doesn't even feel that expanded from sm4sh. World of Light is awful and tedious. Here's a real big problem: The AIs have little sense of balance. I launched a Jigglypuff (LVL 9) with one attack in under 5 seconds, whereas when I tried to fight a LVL. 6 Lucina I got destroyed. Some AI feels more "skilled" than others.
Great: Smash 64
This one is underrated. The competitiveity is excellent, the character roster's balance is pretty good (Pikachu aside), and the game has a fast pace with the hitstun and quick launches. It's a strategic game that actually is a lot of fun. People rag ion this game for having way too little content, and I agree, but it's still a blast and never gets repetitive.
Best: Smash Wii U
"Sm4sh sucks because it isn't competitive" Actually, I disagree. Sure, it's a bit on the floaty side, but it's still very good. the character roster balance is excellent (Except Bayonetta what happened with her?) and it is greatly expanded. The game is more technical than previous titles with custom moves, chargable C-Stick attacks, and controls that yell "fluid". The only problem I have with this game is Smash Tour. Either way, this is a party and competitive game. Best.

I'd rather flex my muscles

Currently watching Pronto and Groundrill Man duke it out.

I'm not sure how a game in which just about every character has some sort of game-breaking nearly unescapable 0-to-death combo due to botched hitbox design and hitstun lasting way too long, is a game that is adequately balanced for competitive play.
Due to my current inability to play MMM in a satisfactory manner on either of my devices, I will be on hiatus from activity for an indefinite period of time.
