*MegaMan Eternal* Why is he so hated?

Post by Hikaru The Wizard 1107 » Wed Jun 10, 2020 6:10 pm

I remember playing this MegaMan fan game and I must say I really enjoyed it, not in the visual section as I saw it as a poor thing. But I still liked it. But why is it so hated by many?

Well, for starters, the creator is a prick that can't handle criticism.

I had heard of that. But I think there is another reason why the game is hated. Since a sequel was announced, it may have been canceled and I've been trying to find out a bit about its creator. Although you should see other reasons for the bad reviews.

The game's level design is frustratingly and unfairly difficult.

I saw him very poor in that regard. The graphics were also weird and awkward. It was a good idea to combine the classic 8-bit style with the 32-bit style. But it wasn't very pleasant after all. Its sound section would be the best part of the game, but it's not a big deal. I hope the same mistakes are not made with MegaMan Eternal 2 (if still in development)

What 32-bit style!? Where!?

Except Frigid Man's stage theme, that one's downright BEAUTIFUL! Clamp Man's stage theme is also pretty damn good, and Scorch Man and Jolt Man are pretty good too. Cipher Man's good. The rest of the soundtrack, though, didn't care much.

Its graphics seem to be an adaptation of the 32-bit style to the 8-bit style due to the appearance of the sprites and the textures of the characters. On the other hand, since the frigid man scenario is my favorite of the game, it's surprising in every respect. The rest was not really much of a problem.

Don't get me wrong. I said it's MUSIC is beautiful! The level design of the overall game still sucks. The reason canonical Mega Man games use hard transitions in spike tunnel drops instead of smooth ones is so that the player can see what's ahead before getting impaled. The underwater spike drop in Frigid Man's stage is a vertical smooth scrolling that goes too fast and gives you no time to react!

I also saw him as almost the best in the game. Just because I love ice levels.

I did not mean that he was the best in all aspects, that was the translator from Spanish to English. He misinterpreted everything.

Now let's talk about another aspect. The history. How is it? Don't pay much attention to that.

Story in classic Mega Man games is almost always completely irrelevant  Usually just an excuse to have the game happen. That applies both in official games and fan games.

MegaMan Unlimited was a blast in their story (I think) As long as they creatively tell the same story, it can be good.
