A lot of people think X7 is the worst mega Man X.
Honestly, I think X6 is a lot worse (not saying X7 is good though).
Suffering from a similar problem as MM1, it is impossible to make it through Gate's Lab unless you have unlocked certain upgrades. And that's just one design problem out of millions thrown around the game.
The entire game is an unfinished piece of garbage that is even worse than Wii Shovelware.
The script in the english version, due to zero effort during localization, is overblown with terrible grammar and spelling that makes the battle network series look like it has good translators.

By the way, did you know I "hid myself while I repaired myself"? At least in the english version I did.
So a rushed, unfun, insanely poor cash grab of a game that has the same quality of the Xbox 360 Dpad.

I bought it so excitedly, and ended up terribly disappointed.

This game is not playing with you. This game wants to chew you up and spit you out! It's like it was designed by those kids who think their levels have to "defeat the player" instead of making fun challenges.

To be honest I like every X game. Sure X6 has a lot of flaws but it doesn't bother me terribly.

According to hebrew religion (which has some kind of obsession with numbers), 7 is God. Now, who is ALMOST as powerful as God but can't quite reach his level of perfection? Number 6, the Devil. Hence why 666 is the supposed Number of the Beast.

Of course, this explanation falls apart when you take Mega Man X7 into account. :lol:

But of course you will bring the poor translation and level design problems.
That is the cornerstone of this game's criticism.
To be fair, i really enjoyed X6. While it had some level design problems, most of these are fairly minor tbh (i mean, the game throws you nightmare orbs at your face, so by the point you reach Gate, you should had at least the Jumper skill, unless you go for a full unarmored X run, also Zero has a skill that makes him stick to the roof and dash).
You could say that the Nightmare effects are annoying, and that's fair, i actually agree that those effects are poorly designed and badly implemented.
If you want to address Blizzard Wolfang's stage or the overusage of the donuts on Blaze Heatnix's, i 100% agree with those points.
However, the bosses are fairly unique and have their own gimmicks. The armors are pretty cool, and the weapons are pretty fun to use. Some of the item locations are fairly challenging to get, while others are fucking stupid (I'm looking at you ,Mijinion.)
Also, the music is fucking amazing.
Sure, the game is inferior to other entries, but i wouldn't call it the worst ever.
If anything, X7 is the real mayor shitstain, firstly and foremost, for the awful choice of going 3D, you could say that people should adapt to change, but the same happened with Castlevania 64, Earthworm Jim 3D and Metal Slug 3D and those games are stinking piles of dogshit.
The stages are unimaginative, innecesarily long at times and the only armor that shows up in the game only makes X float and fire three additional pellets with the charge shot.
Zero is fucking useless, and Axl just feels like a reskin of X.
Also, wtf is the point of not allowing you to play as X at the start of the game just to make him playable at the end anyways?
And the story is horrendous. Say anything you want about X6, but the story is 100 times better than X7's. In X6, a reploid scientist finds a piece of Zero near the Eurasia crash and goes fucking crazy, and then we find out that Alia was forced to fuck Gate over because other scientists where scared that his creations where about as complex as X and Zero.
X7? Red Alert goes Maverick after Sigma shows up and Axl runs away. Then Red Alert wants him back because of his chameleon chip and because Sigma wants the chameleon chip for himself. Also X decides that fighting is not the answer anymore AFTER 8 FUCKING GAMES (i'm counting the Xtreme games, cuz those are canon, bitch!).
The boss designs are cool, but the fights are terrible, alot of people bring Flame Hyenard, but for me, Splash Warfly is the fucking worst. "OVER HERE! LATER! OVER HERE! LATER! OVER HERE! LATER! OVER HERE! LATER!"
The music is badass, though. Our Blood Boils is my favorite track in the game.
Also, fun fact, apparently X7 would had Co-op mode. Can you imagine the fucking mess of having 2 players on an already shit game?

I would say it is not that bad, since it still has a lot of positive qualities and its difficulty has some charm. However, it is clear that the game is rushed and somewhat messy, and that its obvious flaws impeded the game from being a great Mega Man game.

I would sum it up as a good broken game, but a broken game nonetheless. Not a bad game, but the polish is lacking.
