Use other languages for the RM names

Post by Alistair » Fri Mar 05, 2021 12:08 am

Hi!
I want to know what do you think about the use of other idioms in the RMs Name.
It came to mind because I have seen that almost all new RM ideas have already been thought by someone else and I think, why not do a RM of other lenguage?
For example: Gladio Man (Gladio= Sword in Latin), Kaminari Man (Kaminari= Thunder in Japonese), etc.

Don't even get me started on this one...
...cause I know that any other Russian members of these forums will laugh their asses off.

* Musor Man ("Мусор" is Russian for "trash/garbage/junk") 8-)
* Balalayka Man ("Балалайка" as in musical instrument)
* Voda Man ("Вода" means "water")
* Brevno Man ("Бревно" means "log")
* Topor Man ("Топор" means "axe")
* Tachka Man ("Тачка" means "wheelbarrow")
* Koshka Woman ("Кошка" is identified as a female cat)

I can list examples forever, but the point is: the Russian language sucks... in regards to this topic.

Well Japanese has good examples, but other languages work too

Mizu Man (Mizu = water in Japanese)
Sora Man (Sora = sky in Japanese)
Sabi Man (Sabi = rust in Japanese)
Senshi Man (Senshi = warrior in Japanese)
Locus Man (Locus = space in Latin)
Cloaca Man (Cloaca = sewer in Latin)
Glacio Man (Glacio = freeze/ice in Latin)
Solitudinem Man (Solitudinem = desert in Latin)
Why is it called an oven when you of in the cold food of out hot eat the food.

In spanish (my native lenguage) is worse.
Fuego Man (Fuego= Fire)
Marea Man (Marea= Tide)
Escarcha Man (Escarcha= Frost)
Trueno Man (Trueno= Thunder)
in Russian it is not bad, apart they can be taken as RM by Cossack

Well, I don't know Spanish really well, unfortunately... so I can't perceive these words as being "worse".
If you add "Man" to most of Russian words, that practice may become laughable. I'm a native Russian speaker - so you can trust me on this one.

In my case, some Greek translations could be interesting

Kýma Man (Kýma = Wave)
Táfos Woman (Táfos = Grave)
Tríaina Man (Tríania = Trident)
Kalámi Man (Kalámi = Reed)
Skótos Man ( Skótos = Murk)

Mar Man (Mar=Sea)
Arena Man (Arena=Sand)
Tormenta Man (Tormenta=Storm)
Tiburón Man (Tiburón= Shark)

I'm not French, but that language has the most hilarious names for RMs.
Détrempé Man (détrempé = soggy)
Lefer Man (le fer = iron)
Seul Man (seul = alone)
Brûler Man (brûler = scorch)
