Controller discussion
Talk about electric pieces of plastic. Fun!
I haven't held an NES controller for a long time, but I remember playing Super Mario Bros once during one of those game anniversary conventions where they brought out old consoles you could play. I think the controller was pretty comfortable when doing so, and the NES Zapper is a great handgun that is suprisingly accurate for its time!
The SNES controller is a welcome upgrade to the controller formula. It has more buttons, the grips are comfortable, and the placement of everything is a well-done mesh feeling. Excellent controller for games like Street Fighter.
The SMS controller is just a copy of the NES controller, so might as well talk Genesis: The controller is bulky but comfortable. I think the size of the buttons is a good combonation with the excellent D-pad. I think there should've been more buttons... but the 6 button pad isn't that great due to the tiny size of X Y and Z. I think the genesis was a lot more ineffective for games that required technical skills and button combos, but it's a great controller otherwise. SNES controller is still better

Re: Controller discussion
I still find it funny that the core fundamental ideas for the SNES controller design, is still used to this day on Sony's Playstation controllers, and Nintendo Switch's Pro Controllers.

Re: Controller discussion
Dualshock 1 & 2 were great controllers.
Dualshock 3 had some build quality issues but isn't that bad.
Dualshock 4 isn't very good. Oof.

I have an unpopular opinion to make here
The Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons in handheld mode is, in my opinion, the perfect way to play Mega Man games

I always used the Wii remote when playing Brawl. Get on my level.

While I'd had some good experiences here, it's quite mortifying to reflect on how immensely immature I've acted in the past. Retaining this sentiment, I'll mostly remain inactive.

Re: Controller discussion
Wiimotes for Smash are so underrated. Sure, there's no C-stick, but come on. It works well, is responsive, and great for parties because you only have so many alternatives...
Poor Wiimote and nunchuck. They feel so comfortable and they're great together, But receive a bad rap.
Seriously the Wiimote did a lot.

Re: Controller discussion
How about the Super Scope? Because I've used one, and ooooooh boy is it terrible.
Nice bustin' yo.

Re: Controller discussion
I've had some issues with the NRS controller, mostly because my hands are gigantic, but I feel like if you look at the NES controller and have never seen one before, you'd say "Yeah, that makes sense."
I do things.
It's been a while. I think it's about time I made my return.

Re: Controller discussion
I've actually used a Super Scope on an old school CRT television, and I must say, the accuracy of that controller is completely awful, even when perfectly calibrated, that said, much like the NES Zapper, I don't think it even works correctly on modern televisions.
