Reappearing Count Bomb

A version of the Count Bomb that can reappear. It comes from Mega Man III and probably is the first appearance of a count bomb.

Why?

A temporary reappearing platform can be useful to allow the player the possibility to try a section multiple times. As a drawback, it can be dangerous to be around and it only would allow to be placed downwards. A reappearing platform is missing as a level option excluding leaving a screen/resetting the level.

How

It is similar to place the MM6 count bomb. The fuse below does not occupy space and does not have collision. As a difference from the original, it does have the number visible.

It can reappear after some seconds. It doesn't block the playable character's projectiles. The explosion is still harmful and will destroy Ice Blocks.

By this do you mean that it can only be placed with the platform facing upward? As what's essentially a reskin of the existing Count Bomb, I'd allow it to have all the functionalities of a normal Count Bomb, but with the added reappearing part. In fact, you could probably just add the trait as something you could toggle on if you felt like it.

Also, which stage did this appear in? I do not recall ever seeing these in Mega Man 3 (willing to bet it's because I don't find Wily stages to be memorable).

He's talking about the Game Boy version of Mega Man 3.

Also it appeared in Shadow Man's stage.

We need more objects that respawn in general tbh. Resetting rooms works, but is often very limiting.
I support your suggestion, but I think we could do with more generalized solutions. Using level objects only from the original games is a pretty limiting constraint

Wow, I completely forgot about these variants of count bombs when doing my level objects listing. :lol:
I love the fact that these respawn shortly after exploding, there is so much creative applications for its use in MMM.
