Hey there. I've written a question a few months ago regarding tiles the player can pass through. Here's part of the answer I recieved, which helped me achieve this effect in one of my levels, Explorer 2.

When editing in the text editor, the K and J values of the 4 tiles you're looking for are as follows:

I've actually used the help provided in this thread to make a super secret area in my level Explorer 2. I now understand how to use K36 J36, K36 J53, K53 J36 and K53 J53 to make "illusion blocks". However, I'm not sure how to identify the values of the other tiles. Could someone please help me find the values or coordinates of the entire grid? I know at least some of the values are 1, 18, 36, 53, 71, 123, 141, ... what am I missing? Also, how can one view a given tileset completely, such as:

Thanks in advance

It's been a while since I've played with Notepad editing, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but...
Basically, just open the tileset in an image editing program, and you'll notice that all those values you're editing correspond to the corners of each tile.
To find the coordinates for different tiles, simply find the coordinates in the image editor.

Honestly, I'm not sure how people ripped those, but most of them are up on the wiki.
They all follow the same pattern, just different graphics, so the coordinates will all be the same for any one particular use.

Maybe this can help. Not sure why you need to know this, though. Manual tiling, perhaps?

Thank you this is perfect!

Yes, I'm manual tiling in order to achieve a particular aesthetic effect.

It's been a while since there was any activity here, but I was wondering, do any of you know how to modify mugshots via text edit? I'd appreciate some help.

Yeah, sure.
Near the bottom of your level in the text editor, there's a line that say 1f="x.000000".
Change that number. I believe it corresponds to the same id numbers the bosses have.

Thank you, I'll check if the boss IDs are equivalent to the mugshots, if not I may post which ID is what mugshot.

Edit: Checked, and it indeed is the mugshot selector.
Edit 2: Confirmed, it is the bosses ID, checked by putting 9 into the 1f column, 9 being the ID for Geminiman.

Here's a list of all of the IDs for both RMs mugshots (both use the same IDs) as of 1.5. Note that only bosses that are usable in game are usable for mugshots. (Except for Gemini)
  • 0 = Party Balloon
    1 = Party Balloon
    2 = Pharaoh Man
    3 = Top Man
    4 = Crash Man
    5 = Cut Man
    6 = Metal Man
    7 = Toad Man
    8 = Plant Man
    9 = Gemini Man
    10 = Spark Man
    11 = Napalm Man
    12 = Stone Man
    13 = Bomb Man
    14 = Knight Man
    15 = Energy Element/MM1 Exit Orb
    16 = Party Balloon
    17 = Ice Man
    18 = Time Man
    19 = Wood Man
    20 = Magnet Man
    21 = Hard Man
    22 = Bubble Man
    23 = Skull Man
    24 = Ring Man
    25 = Crystal Man
    26 = Charge Man
    27 = Flame Man
    28 = Wind Man
    29 = Shade Man
    30 = Spring Man
    31 = Concrete Man
    32 = Tornado Man
    33 = Question Mark
    34 = Black Box (This isn't even used in-game, but it's here)
    35 = Astro Man
    36 = Black Box
    37 = Grenade Man
    38 = Party Balloon
At 39 the count resets, which means 39 = 1, 40 = 2, etc.
My guess as for the black boxes is that they intended to code some RMs from either 9 or 8, but gave up on it.
Also, these are probably in the order they thought to add all of these, that means MM9 RMs were made before 8's, just a fun fact.

[THE MAD KAIZO LAND]
[ITEM-2 FUN KAIZO LAND]
[THE BLOODY BRUTAL KAIZO LAND]
[THE STORMY ACROBATIC KAIZO LAND]
[ASSASSIN CLIMBING KAIZO LAND]
If you have a good level and want me to play it, feel free to send it to me.

Yeah, if you use that ID for the icon for the level it's gonna be a party balloon, but if it's for the boss, it's gonna crash iirc.
