Re: I want more votes for my levels
To find the most optimal time to upload levels you need to consider/know various factors:
1. What region has the largest amount of active players?
2. At what times of day are the people of this region most likely to play video games?
3. At what times of day while these people are playing games will these people be in the best mood?

I think Shadow Man is one of the most fun, satisfying, and well designed bosses in the entire Mega Man series.

Re: I want more votes for my levels
Get the Sunday at 16-20 EST. That way you will get a larger audience.

Re: I want more votes for my levels
Friday afternoons, and Saturday mornings seem like timeframes that could be worth experimenting with.
Anyone still in the age group of going to school, will not have to worry about homework or going to sleep early as much on those days, removing a potential factor that could negatively affect players moods, and increase likelyhood slightly of upvotes occuring.
Can't guarantee any results though, its just a hypothesis.

You might also consider late-night uploads (00:00-07:00 EST) on weekends to catch the party animals. Drunks having fun love to show it.

Does the game have a time zone? All my most popular levels were uploaded at 3 or 4 hours out of a 24-hour cycle.
My Most Popular Levels:
283233: Cheery Happy Funtime
213787: Ye Olde Basic Castle
204335: Runaway Train

Idk, I only selected EST because it gets a huge chunk of the United States, and a lot of South America, both areas that play this game a lot it seems.Nigel Chinclucker wrote: ↑Wed Feb 06, 2019 9:17 pmDoes the game have a time zone? Re: I want more votes for my levels
Im not sure that uploading a stage during a specific time will bring in upvotes for creators, but it is an interesting strategy.
Anyways. If we take me for example: I mostly upload my stages in the mornings after I get home from my nightshifts. I do this because I like to follow and see how my stage does rating-wise. Now, I live in sweden and so when i go to upload a stage at around, 10.00 a.m, the time would generally be around 04.00 a.m in the united states, so I dont think i get too much support from there, yet i'd like to think I do pretty well for myself in general.
I would say that if you want more upvotes there are key elements to focus on:
* keep your stage brief.
Building stages at 40 - 50 screens can be very hard to keep interesting all the way through. You run the risk of repeating similar gimmick usage and enemy placement throughout your stage. Ive only come across 2 or 3 creators here on the forums Who can genuienely impress me with such stages. ^^
* Difficulty
You need to replay each room of your stage many times over to work out things that you deem to be potentially unfair to a player Who goes in blind. Also, try your best to come up with clever ideas for gimmicks that gradually ramps up in difficulty, same goes for enemies!
(This becomes more manageable with shorter stages).
*Visuals
"Gameplay is more important than visuals", is what I usually hear. While i tend to agree, this is not a good reason to slack off on the visual aspect of a stage. Having a pretty stage with a music track that goes well with it makes a stage all the more enjoyable to play. We should all try our best to attain both fun gameplay and great visuals for our stages, I believe this is key to get higher votings.
These are some things i personally feel are important to get upvotes. Obviously there is more to it than the few things i brought up, but i feel those are essential things to keep in mind when building a stage.

Building easier levels made me realize how difficult it is to keep a stage "light" yet interesting at the same time. It is a fun challenge projected to the creator rather than to the player.
