PLEASE STOP PUTTING DROP SHADOWS UNDER EVERY TILE

Just please, it looks meh at best and causes tons of lag. I’ve had to download the levels go into the editor and remove them just to make the level playable.

I didn't think drop shadows were a large contributor to lag until you pointed it out.

By the way, how do you suppose drop shadows can be used to their full effect? I hear often that they don't look good in outdoor settings.

It makes no sense for the sky to be shaded.

As a general rule, if the background is far off in the distance (i.e. the tile isn't attached to the background if the level were in a 3D space), then it doesn't need a shadow.

If an area is underwater, then you actually have to sacrifice water space to add drop shadows, in turn sacrificing more space you could use for enemies, gimmicks, etc. than water alone already does. From a practical perspective there should not be shadows in underwater sections.
